Physiatry / Physical Medicine
The Science of pain relief without Surgery
Physiatry (pronounced fizzy-at-tree) is the specialty field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Its goal is to achieve better physical health without surgery – typically after an injury, illness or disabling condition.
At Bacharach, we have five doctors of physiatry, with expertise in mitigating pain due to:
- Sports injury
- Spine Injury
- Brain injury
- Head trauma
- Neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and Guillain-Barré syndrome
By using a variety of non-invasive techniques – from medication injections, heat and cold therapies, muscle and nerve stimulation and more – we can help get you back a more painless way of living.
Our team of physiatrists works closely with the entire team of therapists, nurses and social workers to plan therapy, track goals, measure progress and select an appropriate discharge setting, whether it is further therapy or a return to home.
To save time, please print out and complete the Medical History form and bring it with you to your first appointment.
