Outpatient therapy staff in the Leonard M. Hollander Center
You may know that Bacharach is a CARF and Joint Commission accredited medical rehabilitation hospital in Pomona, but did you know we also have 17 physical therapy centers offering a full-spectrum of services throughout southern New Jersey?
Since 1975, Bacharach’s main campus in Pomona has been constantly evolving, adapting its care to include the most cutting-edge treatments and technologies available. In 2004, Bacharach opened a new physical and occupational therapy gym dedicated solely to treating outpatients and named it for long-time advocate and board president Leonard M. Hollander. Because of the center’s size, patients have access to dozens of programs and services.
“You name it, Bacharach’s main campus has it – neurological rehab, a brain injury program, a spinal cord injury program, lymphedema treatment, work hardening, pediatrics, a balance center, day rehab, pulmonary rehab and wheelchair, prosthetic and orthotic clinics. We even have an aquatic center that offers a wellness program and arthritis program for qualified patients,” says Mary Pat Johnson, PT, DPT, associate director of outpatient physical therapy. “Thanks to our programs and wealth of resources in terms of equipment, Bacharach offers a very comprehensive, unparalleled level of care.”
Pomona is the only Bacharach campus that offers both outpatient and inpatient services, including a 50-bed acute medical rehabilitation hospital and a 30-bed subacute rehabilitation center called Renaissance Pavilion.
Even with the all of the resources available at Bacharach’s Pomona campus, the therapists on staff are what make Bacharach so great. They go above-and-beyond with their care, helping patients regain independence and get back to doing the things they love most.
“Our physical, occupational and speech-language therapists are really tremendous,” says Johnson. “On our team, we have clinicians with experience ranging from 1 year to 30 years. Bacharach is the perfect place for therapists who are just starting their careers because we have volunteer mentors, staff in-services at lunch, continuing education classes and a lot of other resources. Anyone looking to work in a rehabilitation setting would learn a lot here.”
