Wei Xu, M.D.

We are pleased to announce that Wei Xu, M.D., a physiatrist specializing in musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain, and management of neuromuscular disorders, has returned to Bacharach.   Dr. Xu (below) attended medical school and began his career in China where he served as a resident, attending physician and assistant medical director in the department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at Changhai Hospital in Shanghai.

Providing evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options and recommendations, Dr. Xu specializes in electrodiagnostic testing for neuromuscular disorders as well as treatment for pain conditions such as muscle pain, joint pain, neck and back pain, and tendon/ligament issues.

Dr. Xu shared, “I believe in a multidisciplinary approach including physical therapy, exercise, acupuncture, ultrasound guided interventional procedures, and medications when necessary.   Most patients I see have a pain condition that is treatable with a non-narcotics approach including physical therapy, exercise, massage and rarely interventional procedures.”  Dr. Xu tries to seek a balanced plan for chronic pain conditions, including psychological support when indicated.  He explained, “Chronic pain is a condition that needs to be dealt with through a variety of methods.”

Dr. Xu is happy to be back at Bacharach. He said, “I am looking forward to continuing to do what I love – taking care of patients and making them better.”  He continued, “Bacharach offers a wide range of treatment options including occupational, physical and speech therapy, nutritional consult, psychological support. We are very experienced with electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS).  We help our patients throughout the entire process from evaluation to treatment and follow-up. Our goal is to help patients to regain function and return to society so they can enjoy life”

Welcome back, Dr. Xu.
