Heather Murray, CPA, MBA
Long-time Galloway resident Heather Murray has been working at Bacharach for six years and really enjoys her role as accounting manager.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in business management from Stockton University, she worked for a nonprofit agency and CPA firm while getting her MBA with a concentration in accounting, which helped her cultivate a real passion for her career.
“For as long as I remember, I wanted to be an accountant,” says Heather. “I love problem solving and working with numbers. Being an accountant, you get to see the big picture of an organization all the way down to the day-to-day transactions of an organization. I have always enjoyed learning how an organization works from start to finish.”
Outside of work, Heather tries to spend as much time as possible with her two daughters, ages three and six. She has found that one of the most important things is finding a good work-life balance, which takes a little bit of work.
“It is always difficult to find a satisfying work-life balance because as a parent, it never feels like you’re doing enough for your kids,” says Heather. “But since my husband works nights, he is with our daughters during the day, which makes it a little easier.”
While working at Bacharach, Heather took review courses and studied to become a certified public accountant (CPA). She worked at Bacharach in the day and studied at night, but her hard work paid off. In 2012, she passed her final CPA exam. Now, she continues to enjoy her job at Bacharach and loves the relationship she has developed with the staff.
“I love working at Bacharach because everyone is like a family,” says Heather. “Most of the staff has been here for years, which really says a lot about the environment. Even though I work in the offices and not on the therapy floor, I have a positive relationship with everyone on staff. We look out for each other and push each other to bring out the best. It’s a great place to be.”
