Maryagnes Marek, an accomplished health care executive, recently joined Bacharach as Director of Health Information Management (HIM)/Chief Privacy Officer.
In this role, Maryagnes is responsible for planning, organizing and providing leadership services for all health information and privacy practices for hospital-wide policy and procedures.
Maryagnes is no stranger to Bacharach. Several years ago, while working as a Corporate Director for AtlantiCare, the health system handled transcriptions for Bacharach. “I’ve always known Bacharach, and now that I’m here, it’s almost like I’m coming back home,” says Maryagnes.
“We’re pleased to add Ms. Marek to our leadership team and know that her demonstrated experience in health information management, physician relations, operations, software documentation and implementation will be an asset to our organization,” said Richard Kathrins, Ph.D., President and CEO, Bacharach.
Maryagnes’ impressive 20-year healthcare career covers key positions in hospitals and healthcare organizations, including Vice President with MedQuist/MModal, Executive Director of Medihealth Outsourcing and Corporate Director for AtlantiCare.
Prior to joining Bacharach, she was President of Royal Health Consulting, a strategic health information management consulting company that provides implementation, project management, interim management and coding services.
After all these years, Maryagnes still finds the healthcare field to be very inspiring. “Healthcare is always changing and evolving. This field has a purpose – we’re helping patients and continually raising the bar on providing quality care.”
Maryagnes earned her Bachelor of Science degree in management and Master of Science degree in health service management from La Salle University. She serves as a volunteer on several American Health Information Management (AHIMA) committees as well as a mentor.
