Janet Revelle, AuD., Director of Audiology, poses with a special #HearInPink Hearing Aid

Have you heard the news? October is National Audiology Awareness Month – a month-long effort that aims to increase the public’s awareness of audiology and the importance of hearing protection.

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders reports that approximately 26 million Americans between the ages of 20 and 69 have high frequency hearing loss due to exposure to loud noise. When people experience loud noises for extended periods of time, the hair cells in the inner ear become damaged, causing permanent hearing loss. Because this type of hearing loss develops gradually and painlessly, most people don’t take preventative action until it’s too late.

At Bacharach, we offer two Hearing Centers – one on our main campus in Pomona and the other in Somers Point. Both sites offer advanced, state-of-the-art technology and a qualified staff who offer a full-spectrum of hearing services, including complete evaluation services, auditory brainstem evoked response testing, otoacoustic emissions testing, central auditory processing evaluations and computerized balance testing. Our hearing professionals also offer customized hearing aids and assistive listening devices.

Hearing is vital to communication, cognition and connecting with others. Bacharach is here to help you hear loud and clear for years to come. To learn more about our Hearing Centers, call our Pomona campus at 609-748-5370 or 609-652-2244 TTY or email email@bacharach.org.
