Every October, the American Physical Therapy Association hosts National Physical Therapy Month to recognize both physical therapists and physical therapy assistants and how they help restore function and relieve pain every day.

Physical therapy is a discipline that concentrates on major muscle joints and muscle groups.

It is prescribed to patients with complications related to stroke, neurological disorders, hip and knee replacements, sports injuries, arthritis, sprains and strains, back pain and repetitive motion injuries.

By utilizing a wide range of techniques, including manual therapy, Graston technique, modalities and kinesio-taping, physical therapists have the tools to help patients heal following surgery, illness or injury.

At Bacharach’s main campus in Pomona, patients have access to both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services, including an acute rehab, subacute rehab and day rehab – allowing patients to be at Bacharach for every step of their recovery.

“Acute rehab focuses on getting patients to the point where they can do basic activities such as walking and standing. On the other hand, the outpatient services focus on getting patients back to work and decreasing pain,” said Director of Satellite Services Mike Mufferi, PT. “Pomona’s campus has access to a therapeutic pool, treadmill with suspension, gym and sports-specific functional training equipment, making treatment highly-personalized.”

“Some of our satellite campuses also have access to a pool and gym, including Margate, Egg Harbor Township and Galloway Tilton Fitness,” said Mufferi. “Other satellite campuses specialize in certain conditions. For example, Tuckerton sees a lot of lymphedema patients and Linwood sees vestibular concussions. No matter what campus a patient goes to, they will receive comprehensive, personalized treatment from a highly qualified physical therapist.”

At Bacharach, we offer physical therapy at our main campus in Pomona, as well as all of our 16 satellite locations – making comprehensive care and highly skilled physical therapists easily accessible to individuals all across the region
